Since 2008, I have had the honor of attending the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival every year with a different short film. This year, I was elated to present Susie’s Hope, a feature film on which I worked as Screenwriter and Producer. Susie’s Hope was awarded BEST FAMILY FILM.

In attendance were fellow Producer, Phil Newsome; actresses Willette Thompson and Brandi Renee Brown; and true-life inspirations, Donna and Susie Lawrence. We offer our appreciation to everyone who came out to see the film (a sold-out house!) and to everyone at Cape Fear Independent Film Festival.
The short film “Car Jacked,” which was my student film at Hollins University’s MFA in Screenwriting program, was also nominated for Best Comedy as part of the regional film showcase. Many thanks to the cast and crew for their support!
What’s next, you say? (At least, in my imagination, you say!) The Greenville International Film Festival. Susie’s Hope will be showing in my hometown of Greenville, SC, on June 9th. I’m excited to be returning to my roots for a fun evening!
