This year's harvest included a spate of Festival screenings for our projects, including a BEST DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY Award at the Terror Film Festival for the short film Banks of the Vltava. The film also received nominations for Best Short Horror Film, Best Actor and Best Special Effects. Banks of the Vltava also screened at the Buffalo Screams! Film Festival (nominated for Best Special Effects Makeup) and Winston-Salem's indie film series Cinema Pub. The short film Beyond the Door, which I co-produced, and was directed by Matthew Mandarano (the award-winning DP of Banks of the Vltava), screened at ITSA Film Festival and Corpsedance Film Festival. So, in all, it was a nice bounty this year.
October was also a month of careful negotiation for me. I have been involved with the development of a feature film that is planning to go into production in early 2012, as funds are being raised now (literally, as I type this). I cannot deny what an excruciating process "negotiations" are for me; I just like to make movies. However, a contract has been reached that is favorable to all parties concerned, and I am excited to be a part of it. While an official Press Release has not been issued yet, I can simply say that this inspirational true story will be as moving to audiences as it is to me.
Lastly, October saw the release of the official website for the feature film Ocean Drive:

I co-wrote Ocean Drive with the film's producer, Brad Yoder, and I am incredibly proud of this project. I feel the script is one of the best things I've ever written, and I've appreciated the invaluable input of many great folks along the way. I hope you'll check out the website (and I recommend you cruise over to the Media page for some great tunes).
And as I now move from the season of harvest to the season of Thanksgiving, I want to say: Thanks to you! Your support of my work and the work of the many talented people I have the pleasure to be associated with is the only way that we are able to continue making movies. I truly appreciate you joining me on this adventure!
