What a great weekend we had in Philadelphia, screening "A Study in Red" at the Terror Film Festival!  To answer the first question I usually get: Nope, we didn't win.  Nonetheless, we are honored to have been included!  We didn't see a bad film all weekend, and we were included amongst films with much bigger budgets and better-known actors!  It was a blast!  Congrats to all the deserving films included!

We would love to see more NC filmmakers entered into the Terror next year!  We certainly plan to submit "Banks of the Vltava" for competition in 2011.

Our daughter, Eris, had a great time being strolled around the big city by Daddy.  We saw a lot of awesome, new sights!  Thanks to our friends Jeanine and Anthony for a tour of the Natural History Museum at the Academy of Natural Sciences, and a special thanks to my mom who came all the way to Philly just to baby-sit while we went to the screening and awards!

We were unable to attend the Buffalo Screams Film Festival, where "ASIR" also screened this weekend.  We are grateful for all the recognition of this film!

We are packing up the suitcases, strapping baby Eris into her car seat, and stocking the cooler with sodas.  We depart today for the bright, twinkling lights of Philadelphia! ...And the Terror Film Festival, where we have been nominated for a CLAW Award for the film "A Study in Red."

Our film will screen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night (October 22nd) at the Ethical Society Building on Rittenhouse Square.  (Not that I know where that is myself, but I'm sure I'll find my way.)

"A Study in Red" will also screen on Saturday at 12:00 (noon) as part of the Buffalo Screams Film Festival.  We regret that we can't physically be in both places, so only my astral projection will be attending in upstate NY.

We are looking forward to a great weekend, and undoubtedly will share our adventures after we return!

I'm still waiting to catch up to myself from the past week.  I feel time-warped.

Monday was spent scouting locations for Discovery ID, with whom I'd spend the coming weekend (Thursday-Sunday) shooting "Mainstreet Mysteries" about the tragic murder of April Jones.  While the subject matter was deeply saddening,I enjoyed working with Storyhouse Productions!

I also had the pleasure of shooting a segment for FOX.  Although I was merely a P.A., I can't wait to see it shown on TV, so I can say what it was!  That was a long, but really fun, day.

And the rest of the week was spent on set with Storyhouse, in class for the MFA or in rehearsal for Touring Theatre of NC!

I hope some folks will catch the Touring Theater performance of "Ole Fred Speaks of Family," showing at UNCG's McIver Hall tonight (Friday, 10/8/10)!  We'll be featured at the Caldwell Awards, honoring Fred Chappell.

I am eager to get back into the editing bay on "Banks of the Vltava" over the next few days!
