For two months each summer, I disappear into the mountains of Roanoke, Virginia, where I pursue my MFA in Screenwriting at Hollins University. The program is fantastic, recruiting top-notch professors from NYU, UCLA and other prestigious international programs. This summer, I had the immense pleasure of working with Stephanie Moore (writer of the Disney film Life-Size); Kelly Fullerton (staff writer on MTV's Awkward); and Dave Johnson (currently writing for Fox Animation Studios). As accessible as they were knowledgeable, I found myself growing exponentially as a writer. I can hardly wait to get back to Hollins next summer!
Our short film, Banks of the Vltava, has been nominated for FOUR awards at the 2011 Terror Film Festival, including Best Actor, Best DP, Best Special FX and Best Short Horror Film! For more information, be sure to check out Walk in the Park Pictures!
